Carretera Austral – Lakes, Marble And Glaciers

Day 1 | Arrival in Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas
Arrive on a morning flight to Puerto Montt and transfer to your hotel in Puerto Varas, located on the scenic shores of Lake Llanquihue.

In the afternoon, enjoy a City Tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas, where you will discover the main attractions, picturesque waterfronts, and panoramic viewpoints. Experience your first encounter with southern Chile’s iconic lakes and volcanoes.

Day 2 | Osorno Volcano & Petrohué Falls (Full Day)

Depart from Puerto Varas, traveling along Lake Llanquihue’s shoreline with exceptional views of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes. Ascend to the Osorno Volcano Mountain Center (1,240 m above sea level) for free time to take photos, enjoy hiking, sip coffee, or opt for a chairlift ride.

Descend toward Ensenada for lunch (not included). Throughout the day, admire nature, volcanoes, and postcard-perfect landscapes.

Day 3 | Llanquihue & Frutillar – Night Navigation

Begin your morning with a half-day excursion to Llanquihue, part of the historic Settlers' Route, and Frutillar, a charming town known for its German heritage. Stroll along the waterfront, admire heritage houses, and enjoy views of the Lake Theater with Lake Llanquihue and the volcanoes as a stunning backdrop.

Return to the hotel around 1:00 PM. The afternoon is free to rest, pack, or explore Puerto Varas at your own pace.

In the evening, transfer from your Puerto Varas hotel to board the overnight ferry from Puerto Montt to Chaitén, navigating the fjords and channels of southern Chile.

Arrive in Chaitén at 08:00 hrs with a coordinated transfer from the port to your hotel. Spend the morning at leisure to recover from the night sailing. The afternoon is yours to explore the town, stroll along the waterfront, visit local viewpoints, or simply relax and soak in the Patagonian ambiance. Day 5 | Chaitén – Puyuhuapi (Regular Bus)

Enjoy a free morning in Chaitén.

At 11:00 AM, depart by regular bus to Puyuhuapi, traveling approximately 3 hours through the untouched landscapes of the Carretera Austral. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy free time to explore the town, its natural surroundings, and the peaceful atmosphere of Aysén Patagonia.

Depart early from Puyuhuapi for a full-day adventure in Queulat National Park, a highlight of the Carretera Austral. Take in views of rivers, mountains, natural lookouts, and waterfalls. Upon reaching the park, enjoy an easy hike through native forest to Laguna Témpano, with privileged views of the breathtaking Queulat Hanging Glacier. Capture photos, enjoy the scenery, and have lunch (included depending on selected option). Return to Puyuhuapi in the afternoon. Day 7 | Puyuhuapi – Coyhaique

At the scheduled time, set off by private transfer to Coyhaique, the capital of the Aysén Region. The journey of approximately 4 hours showcases remarkable Patagonian landscapes, with mountains, rivers, and forests throughout. Upon arrival in Coyhaique, enjoy a free afternoon to rest, explore the city, or discover its gastronomy. Day 8 | Marble Caves – General Carrera Lake (Full Day)

Early departure from Coyhaique along the Southern Highway to Puerto Tranquilo. The route takes you through Cerro Castillo National Park, with views of the impressive massif, valleys, rivers, and lagoons.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat tour on General Carrera Lake to visit the Marble Caves Nature Sanctuary, an extraordinary set of limestone formations sculpted by water, considered among the most stunning sights in Chilean Patagonia.

Return to Coyhaique at the end of the day.

Day 9 | Exploradores Glacier (Full Day)

Embark on a full-day tour to the Exploradores Glacier, set within Laguna San Rafael National Park. After a safety briefing and equipment check, begin a guided trek to the glacier’s surface. Experience ice trekking, cave exploration, blue ice formations, and direct interaction with a living glacier, accompanied by professional guides.

Return in the afternoon.

Day 10 | Coyhaique – City Tour & Simpson River Horseback Riding

In the morning, enjoy a Coyhaique City Tour, visiting residential districts, scenic viewpoints, the unique pentagonal Plaza de Armas, and the local artisan market.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Simpson River area for a guided horseback ride of approximately 2 hours along the river and through wooded paths. Suitable for all ages and no prior experience required; a snack is included after the ride.

Day 11 | Farewell – Transfer to Balmaceda Airport

At the scheduled time, transfer from Coyhaique to Balmaceda Airport for your return flight, concluding an unforgettable adventure through southern Chile and the Patagonian region.
