Tour Description

Day 1: Arrival in El Calafate

Upon your arrival at El Calafate airport or bus terminal, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure and explore as you wish.

Day 2: Mini Trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier (The mini trekking takes place from early August to the first days of June)

Los Glaciares National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, your private guide will pick you up and take you to the embarkation pier at Bajo de las Sombras port, located about 6 km before the glacier balconies. Here, you will board a boat for a 20-minute navigation across Brazo Rico, enjoying spectacular views of the Perito Moreno Glacier’s front wall.

You will disembark on the opposite shore, where our expert bilingual mountain guides will welcome you and lead you to a small shelter. After a brief preparation, you will walk along the lake shore to the edge of the glacier.

Once on the ice, the guide will fit each participant with crampons and explain their use. The following two-hour circuit introduces you to the unique landscape of the glacier, featuring streams, small lagoons, gullies, crevasses, and a variety of ice formations in dazzling shades of blue.

The ice surface you walk on is irregular but stable and secure.

You will also receive information about the local flora, fauna, and general glaciology of the region, along with details about the remarkable phenomenon that occasionally causes the rupture of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

After the trek, a walk through the forest will bring you back to the shelter. Your guide will then transfer you back to your hotel.

Evening at leisure.

Day 3: Gourmet Cruise and Glacier Navigation

Los Glaciares National Park

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up and take you to the exclusive dock “La Soledad” (Bahía Tranquila, Paraje Punta Bandera). Boarding time is at 9:00 a.m.

The cruise sets off northwest, crossing Punta Avellaneda and Boca del Diablo, the narrowest section of the lake, just 800 meters across.

After two hours of cruising amid icebergs of various shapes and colors, we pause in front of the ice floe barrier currently blocking the entrance to Upsala Channel. Weather permitting, you’ll enjoy distant views of the Upsala Glaciers.

We then continue navigating Lago Argentino southwards via the Spegazzini Channel, approaching the impressive Spegazzini Glacier, whose front walls rise between 80 and 135 meters (262–443 feet) above lake level.

A gourmet lunch will be served as you admire this stunning landscape.

In the afternoon, the cruise will stop at Puesto de Las Vacas, a peaceful bay in the Spegazzini Channel, where the engines are turned off so you can enjoy an entertaining guided walk with our team, offering incredible panoramic views of the Spegazzini Glacier.

Once back on board, the return journey via Brazo Norte brings you to the La Soledad dock at 6:00 p.m. Your guide will then accompany you back to your hotel after an unforgettable day.

Evening at leisure.

Day 4: Farewell to El Calafate

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have some free time before your guide picks you up for your transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
