Upon your arrival at San Martin de los Andes airport or the bus terminal, you will be greeted and transferred to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure, allowing you to explore or relax as you wish.

In the morning, we will embark on the renowned Seven Lakes Route, set amidst the Patagonian Andean forest.

Famous worldwide for its breathtaking scenery, the Seven Lakes Route takes you on a four-hour journey, connecting lakes Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Correntoso, Espejo, and Nahuel Huapi. Throughout the trip, we will stop at various viewpoints, each offering unique perspectives and stunning landscapes of the different lakes.

Our journey concludes in Villa La Angostura. Nestled in the northwest corner of Lake Nahuel Huapi, this charming town boasts some of Argentina’s most beautiful mountain scenery. Located within Nahuel Huapi National Park, it is surrounded by pristine lakes and is part of Patagonia’s main protected natural areas.

The lush forests, interwoven with rivers, waterfalls, and mountains, transform their colors with the changing seasons, continually renewing their beauty.

Here, we will explore the lake port, Quintupuray, Messidor, the town center, and its nearby attractions. You will then have free time to discover Villa La Angostura at your own pace before we return to San Martin de los Andes around 6 p.m.

Our day begins at 9 a.m., departing from the hotel in San Martin de los Andes for a 42 km journey. Along the way, we will stop in the city of Junin de los Andes for a city tour, visiting significant sites such as the Church-monument to Laura Vicuña and Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, which hold deep connections with the region’s Mapuche heritage and are recognized by the Vatican.

After leaving Junín, we will soon catch our first glimpse of Lake Huechulafquen with the impressive Lanin Volcano in the distance. We will pause here to walk along the lakeshore and visit the source of the Chimehuín River, a world-renowned spot for trout fishing, where the fish can often be seen in the clear waters.

We will then continue by vehicle into the Lanín National Park, enjoying spectacular views as we follow the shores of Lake Huechulafquen for approximately 30 km. As we venture deeper into the park, ancient araucaria forests become visible. The journey takes us to the barbecue areas operated by the Mapuche community of Cañicul, where you can savor grilled meats and a selection of salads (lunch is optional and not included).

Our adventure continues to the highlight of the National Park: the majestic Lanin Volcano and its impressive glaciers. We will reach the southern base, the closest accessible point to the volcano, which is also the starting point for summit hikes. Here, you can capture the best photos of its glaciers and peak.

We’ll proceed to Lake Paimún, where you can visit a unique chapel known for its special location and its blend of donations from various cultures, incorporating both traditional church elements and Mapuche symbolism.

We will return to your hotel in San Martin de los Andes at approximately 7 p.m.
