Fishing Day At Fonck Lake

In the morning, your expert guide will pick you up at your hotel to head towards Fonck Lake. Situated 65 km from Bariloche, this lake lies in the heart of the National Park, surrounded by untouched, wild landscapes. Access to Fonck Lake is exclusively by four-wheel drive vehicles. As the most secluded lake within the National Park, it is renowned for its exceptional fishing opportunities for large brown trout, rainbow trout, and fontinalis.

Upon arrival at the embarkation point, your guide will explain the fishing techniques available for this excursion:

• Fly Fishing: This technique involves casting flies—hooks dressed to imitate insects, small fish, shrimp, and more—using a specially weighted line and precise casting techniques. While fly fishing requires practice and dedication, it is a rewarding method that continues to gain popularity globally.
• Spinning: Spinning consists of casting and retrieving artificial lures, such as spoons, that mimic the movement of small prey in the water, enticing hungry trout to strike. Spinning is permitted in all lakes and certain river sections, and can be enjoyed from the shore or from boats, whether rowed or motorized. We recommend ultra-light equipment and simple, barbless hooks.

After receiving your instructions, your adventure begins: enjoy a boat trip on Fonck Lake while fishing using your chosen technique.

After two hours of fishing from the boat, you will reach the lakeshore to savor a delicious lunch surrounded by nature. Following a break, you'll continue floating and fishing throughout the afternoon, exploring the best fishing spots the lake has to offer.

Your guide will always be by your side, sharing insights about the history of the San Carlos de Bariloche region, and providing expert advice on the best fishing techniques and the local fish species.

After covering a total distance of 12 km throughout the day, your guide will bring you to the lake's exit point, where vehicles will be waiting to return you comfortably to your hotel.
