Tour Description

You will be picked up from your hotel by a professional guide who will take you to the chosen lake's embarkation point.
Lake Nahuel Huapi is the largest lake and a key feature of the National Park, which is named after it. With its impressive size and depth, it boasts seven distinct arms, each with unique characteristics. The lake is home to large trout, primarily Rainbow and Brown, as well as the remarkable Fontinalis in smaller numbers. Although these trout are challenging to catch with a fly, they offer an exciting adventure. We use motorboats for fishing and to explore this vast lake using Fly Fishing, Spinning, or Trolling techniques.
Lake Gutiérrez is located 11 km from Bariloche. This lake is an excellent option for fishing on windy days, thanks to its protected bays and unique location. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, it offers outstanding fishing opportunities for Rainbow, Brown, and Fontinalis trout.

The Lake Moreno is open for fishing year-round. Located 16 km from downtown Bariloche, it provides excellent Rainbow and Fontinalis trout fishing. The scenery is breathtaking, with impressive residences along the shore and the majestic backdrop of the Andes Mountains.

Upon arrival at the lake embarkation point, your guide will introduce the recommended fishing techniques for your excursion:
  • Fly Fishing: This technique involves casting artificial flies—imitations of insects, small fish, shrimp, etc.—using a specially weighted line and a precise casting method. While fly fishing requires practice and dedication to master the casting technique, it is growing in popularity worldwide.
  • Spinning: In spinning, you cast and retrieve artificial lures, such as spoons, to mimic the movement of prey in the water, enticing the trout to strike if you manage to fool them.
  • Trolling: Nahuel Huapi National Park features many pristine lakes ideal for trolling. This method involves dragging artificial lures at slow speeds from a motorboat while enjoying spectacular scenery.
Then, your adventure begins as you set sail on Lake Nahuel Huapi, Moreno, or Gutiérrez, fishing with your chosen technique.
You will continue drifting and fishing throughout the morning or afternoon, depending on your selected option, in the best fishing spots these lakes have to offer.
With your guide by your side, you will discover the history of the San Carlos de Bariloche region and learn about the best fishing techniques and native fish species found in the area.
After traveling 12 km, your guide will take you to the exit point of the lake, where transportation will be waiting to return you to your hotel.
Fishing Season
The fishing season officially begins on November 1 and ends on April 30 each year in Nahuel Huapi National Park, Northern Patagonia.
