Trekking Tour To The Cajon Del Azul

Our adventure begins at a designated farm, chosen as our meeting point. From here, we set off on an exhilarating hike that lasts approximately 9 hours.

The first section of the trail is broad and rated as medium to low difficulty, making it suitable for most trekking lovers. As we progress, we move toward the confluence of the Encanto Blanco and Azul Rivers, an area famously called "La Confluencia", where the breathtaking beauty of nature unfolds before us.

Along the way, we will pass by the Loma de los Piches Viewpoint, a remarkable spot where our knowledgeable guide will help us take in panoramic views of the Valle del Azul. Our route then leads us to the first refuge, known as "La Playita", set along the banks of the Río Azul—an ideal place for a well-earned break.

Our trek continues to the La Tronconada Refuge, nestled in a picturesque coihue forest at the base of the Cerro Dedo Gordo. After another 20 minutes on the trail, we arrive at Refugio del Cajón del Azul, where we experience the highlight of this journey: the Río Azul canyon. From a wooden bridge suspended at a depth of 35 meters, we marvel at the river rushing through rocky walls that, at certain points, are less than a meter apart.
