Gourmet Glaciers Experience
Tour Description
We will pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate starting at 07:30 and head towards (Bahía Tranquila, Punta Bandera).
Upon arrival at the destination after an hour-long bus ride, we will board a modern catamaran at 09:00.
The navigation begins as we set course northwest, passing by Avellaneda Point and Boca del Diablo —the narrowest section of the lake, measuring approximately 800 meters across. After about two hours of sailing, you will see a series of icebergs in a wide variety of shapes and colors, signaling our approach to the Upsala Glacier. We will pause at the iceberg barrier that temporarily blocks entry into the Upsala Channel and, weather permitting, we will admire the Upsala Glacier from a distance. style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">We will continue our journey on Lago Argentino, heading southward into the Spegazzini Channel to reach the impressive Spegazzini Glacier. This cruise offers a close view of the glacier, whose towering face rises between 80 and 135 meters above the lake, making it the tallest in the National Park. The vessel features four outdoor decks, providing panoramic vistas from every angle.
After taking in the glacier, a delicious gourmet lunch will be served on board as you continue to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
In the afternoon, the cruise will dock at Puesto de Las Vacas —a serene bay within the Spegazzini Channel—where the engines will be turned off to allow guests to disembark and participate in a short, easy trek led by our team of guides. We will hike for about an hour through the Patagonian forest , on land that once supported cattle ranching. The trail offers access to outstanding panoramic viewpoints of the Spegazzini Glacier from a unique perspective.
For the final segment, we will sail towards the Perito Moreno Glacier , where you will enjoy an exclusive view of the north face of this mighty and still-growing glacier.
Finally, we will begin our return, arriving at La Soledad Private Port by 5:00 p.m., where you will be transferred back to your hotel in El Calafate.
If you wish to enhance your adventure, we also offer the option to disembark at Puerto Moreno around 3:30 p.m., giving you two hours to explore the walkways on foot before returning to your hotel in El Calafate.
