Tour Description
The tour begins at 7:00 am. If you chose the option with transfers, we will pick you up from your hotel and travel in a comfortable bus to Punta Bandera Port, located 47 km from El Calafate.
At 9:00 am, we will board an amazing boat to start the navigation through the North Arm of Lake Argentino. We will cross the Devil’s Mouth towards the Upsala Channel and sail among the impressive icebergs that have broken off from the front of the Upsala Glacier.
Next, we enter the Spegazzini Channel, where you will catch your first glimpse of the Dry Glacier. The journey continues to the face of the Spegazzini Glacier, where you will also see the Heim Sur and Peineta glaciers.
During the navigation, our captain will make stops so you can admire the ice blocks from every angle and capture the best photographs.
We will disembark at Spegazzini Base to begin our exploration of the area by walking along the forest trail to the Spegazzini Shelter. This 300-meter accessible trail features various stations and viewpoints that offer spectacular views of the entire Glacier Bay. Along the way, we’ll stop at different stations focused on Glaciology, History, Fauna, and Flora, and you’ll have access to scenic viewpoints.
The trail is accessible and presents no difficulty as it follows firm ground.
Once at the Shelter, guests can enjoy the local cuisine, visit the shop, and take in breathtaking panoramic views from both the indoor lounges and the outdoor deck terrace. You’ll have time to enjoy your own lunch or purchase food on site.
At this location, if you chose the lunch option, we will serve the Refugio menu or the VIP menu, depending on your advance reservation.
There is also an option for those who enjoy hiking: take the mountain trail, a medium-difficulty trek through a wooded path with natural viewpoints, offering incredible vistas and concluding at the landing point.
After returning to the boat, we’ll begin the second part of our navigation.
Around 4:00 pm, we will arrive back at Punta Bandera.
If you selected the transfer option, at approximately 4:00 pm we will return to El Calafate.
