Kayaking along the river is suitable for both beginners and seasoned kayakers , with the option to choose between a full-day or half-day kayaking experience.
Tour Description
At 10:30 am, our experienced guide will be waiting for us at the designated meeting point in the center of El Chaltén. From there, we will head by car to the Laguna Condor Refuge, situated 20 kilometers north of the town and along the scenic banks of the Río de las Vueltas.
Upon arrival at the refuge, we will participate in an introductory briefing about the activity, followed by equipment fitting and the use of all necessary safety gear (wetsuits, neoprene boots and gloves, life jacket, and helmet). Before entering the river, we will go over essential movements as well as basic and safety paddling techniques to ensure a smooth navigation experience.
Once on the river, we will embark on an exciting and memorable descent, winding along the river’s meanders while taking in the breathtaking Patagonian landscapes and spectacular panoramic views of Mount Fitz Roy.
After paddling for 20 km and about three and a half hours of kayaking, we will arrive back in El Chaltén. We will return to the original meeting point, where we can change out of our wet clothes, relax, and conclude this unforgettable adventure at approximately 5:00 p.m.
** If you select the "Half Day" option, the kayak journey on the Río de las Vueltas covers 10 km in about an hour and a half, finishing at Bonanza Camp. Here, you can change clothes and rest before boarding the vehicle that will take you back to El Chaltén, with drop-off scheduled for around 3:00 p.m.
