Ski touring around Chapelco offers a one-of-a-kind adventure that will make your visit to San Martín de los Andes truly unforgettable.

Unlike traditional ski resorts with groomed trails, this journey takes you through untouched snow, dense forests, scenic steppes, dramatic canyons, and even frozen lakes.

This experience is perfect for physically active individuals who already possess skiing skills (levels 4 to 5).

During the tour, you will always be guided by a professional guide and certified instructor. Over the course of 7 hours, you will explore unique slopes, diverse routes, and take in the breathtaking views of San Martín de los Andes.

Tour Description

The day before the activity, we will meet at a designated meeting point to check our equipment. Here, we will receive a briefing with all the necessary information about what to bring for the excursion.

On the day of the trip, our guide will pick us up from our accommodation around 10 a.m. and transfer us to the starting point of the activity. Before we begin, the guide will provide an instructional talk and share important recommendations about the terrain where we will be skiing.

We will start our ascent through the hidden valley, renowned as one of the most stunning locations in San Martín de los Andes, reaching an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. We will explore various routes, enjoying several descents and slopes. Our journey will take us through open areas, steppes, frozen lakes, and dense forests.

Throughout the adventure, we will make several technical stops to hydrate and recharge with energizing snacks to keep us skiing.

As we travel, we will be treated to breathtaking views of the Lanin Volcano, the Lacar Valley, and countless snow-capped peaks and ravines.

We will finish our day of skiing with a snack while admiring the views of San Martín de los Andes. Afterwards, we will leave our ski equipment with the guide, and around 4:00 pm, a shuttle will take us back to our accommodation.
