Tour Description

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable kayaking journey deep in the heart of Chilean Patagonia!

The Grey Kayak adventure on Grey Lake offers a one-of-a-kind chance to explore, feel excitement, and connect with nature in a way only Patagonia can provide.

This kayaking experience lasts about 3 hours and is available daily at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 4:30 PM, subject to weather and wind conditions.

Upon arrival at our base camp, our expert guide will equip you with everything you need: wetsuit, waterproof jacket and boots, poogies (kayak gloves), spray skirt, and life vest. Next, you'll participate in a safety briefing on land to get familiar with the kayak, paddle, route, and current weather. When you're ready, it’s time to be amazed and enjoy the adventure!

We will carry our kayak about 20 meters to the launch area. Grey Lake stretches nearly 17 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide, featuring several capes, peninsulas, and inlets, and is primarily fed by the glacier. During our trip, we'll paddle along the eastern face of the ice wall, taking in unique viewpoints for a truly unforgettable experience. From the water, you'll be surrounded by the majestic Cerro Paine Grande, the Olguín Range, the glacier, and many more breathtaking vistas.

Each paddle stroke is not only a thrilling physical challenge but also a chance to closely connect with the pristine Patagonian wilderness.

During the first part of the trip, we’ll paddle near impressive floating icebergs, creating a surreal and magical atmosphere, before heading towards the glacier’s eastern tongue. Grey Glacier offers you the chance to witness and admire this extraordinary landscape, including the towering walls of ice that define this region.

Every moment on the kayak is epic. From this unique vantage point on the water, you'll be able to capture incredible photos of the stunning natural scenery.

If weather allows, on the way back we’ll pass by Glacier Island “Nunatak” before returning to base camp.

For your comfort, we recommend wearing a long-sleeved base layer on top (since the wetsuit is sleeveless) and a base layer on the bottom. This is ideal for the cold climate that characterizes this area.

Once we’re back on shore, you’ll take home memories as vivid as the waters of Grey Lake. This kayaking excursion is an adventure you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!

How to Get There:

For the 1:00 pm departure, check-in is at 12:00 pm, with arrival at base camp around 2:00 pm for the second excursion. The third trip departs from the refuge at 5:30 pm for those needing to return to their hotel or the city.
