During this experience, we will climb Cerro Frías in a 4x4 vehicle, reaching nearly 1000 meters above sea level. From the panoramic viewpoints, you can admire the immensity of Lake Argentino, Lake Roca, and the Boca del Diablo (Devil’s Mouth). Throughout this four-wheel drive journey, you’ll encounter native flora and fauna and enjoy a boxed lunch, snack, or dinner at Estancia Alicia.

Tour Description
Our tour starts at 8:30 AM with pick-up from hotels in downtown El Calafate. We will travel towards the base of the Andes Mountains and commence our ascent of Cerro Frías. This mountain lies within the Estancia Alice property, located 23 kilometers from the city center, where we will have the chance to observe native flora and fauna. The journey is made in Land Rover Defender vehicles, which are specially equipped and adapted to guarantee safety and comfort during the excursion.
As we climb, we will enjoy an amazing panoramic view of the surroundings and, for instance, admire the immense Lake Argentino. We will arrive at the first viewpoint, situated 450 meters above sea level, where the Centinela River will be visible.
Our second stop is at 1030 meters, providing views of Torres del Paine, Lago Roca, the Cadena de Cristales (Crystal Chain), the Canal de los Témpanos (Iceberg Channel), the Rico Sur branches of Lake Argentino, and the northern arm of the same lake. On a clear day, you may even see the Andes Mountains and Mount Fitz Roy.
Upon reaching the highest point on the route, we will begin our descent through the native lenga forest along the southern slope of the hill until we arrive at the ranch’s barbecue area. Here, you’ll have time to enjoy the facilities and relax. There will also be a space for meals, whether it’s a packed lunch, snack, or dinner, depending on the selected option.
At the end of this unforgettable experience, we will make our way back to the city center and drop you off at your centrally located hotel.
