Tour Description
LAGO ROCA HORSE RIDING (FULL-DAY)
Our adventure begins with departure from selected hotels at 08:30 am, heading to the Lago Roca Ranch, located just 42 km from El Calafate. Upon arrival, we will prepare the horses and set off towards the mountain area. During a one-hour ride, we will have the opportunity to discover the region’s unique flora and fauna until we reach the main viewpoint, where breathtaking vistas await: the Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake, Cerro Moreno, Brazo Sur, Cerro Frias, Magallanes Peninsula, and the Valley of the Camiseta River.
The journey continues for another hour and a half on horseback to the Rio Rico Campament, where a delicious lunch awaits. Enjoy meat cooked on a disk, accompanied by wine, juice, or water. After lunch and a well-deserved rest, we will ride for one more hour to return to the Estancia. From there, we will head back to El Calafate, arriving around 5 pm.
HORSE RIDING TO CHILE BORDER (2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT)
This is a special adventure that takes us to the border with Chile. Departing on horseback from Lago Roca Ranch, we will follow the Rio Rico river, which flows into the southern arm of Lago Argentino. We will traverse valleys, cross streams and wetlands, and finally reach Puesto La Rosada.
We will spend the night in a mountain shelter. The following day, our return will take the high road (weather permitting) to enjoy views of the Paine Massif and the southern arm of Lago Argentino. Throughout the experience, we will be identifying native species of flora and fauna, while also learning about the region’s history, geology, and geography.
