This navigation of the Mayo Spirit Trek takes you to explore one of the most beautiful places in Los Glaciares National Park: the Seno Mayo del Lago Argentino.
On this excursion we will navigate the Canal de los Témpanos, take panoramic walks through the Andean Patagonian Forest, observe hanging glaciers and the unmissable visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier on its walkways and sailing.
All these activities, panoramic views and walks can be enjoyed in one day for your experience complete by El Calafate!
Tour Description
Your experience begins when we pick you up at the hotel early in the morning. Once we arrive at the Port of Punta Bandera, the Cruz del Sur boat will receive us to begin sailing through the Canal de los Témpanos del Lago Argentino.
Although this experience has 3 landings, on the tour we will stop at some places that deserve an explanation from the guide and of course, time to take photos. The first stop without disembarking will be in front of “Punta Bandera”, a historical site where Francisco Pascasio Moreno performed the baptism of Lake Argentino.
We are going to make the first landing in Bahía Toro. Accompanied by the guide, we will walk through the Patagonian Andean forest until we reach a waterfall. From the coast of the lake, we will have impressive views of the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro. After this walk, we will return to the boat and sail 15 minutes to our next destination.
In Cerro Negro, our second landing, We will enter the Patagonian Andean forest with the guide. Following a river, we will arrive near the base of Cerro Negro. From there, we will contemplate the majestic Black Glacier, a hanging glacier that gives rise to numerous waterfalls. We will enjoy the landscape before returning to the boat.
We will continue sailing through the Canal de los Témpanos from the Seno Mayo of Lake Argentino. At the end of the channel, we will see the north wall of the Perito Moreno glacier. We will disembark in Puerto Perito Moreno and walk towards the walkways in front of the glacier. There, we will have free time to observe the glacier from different balconies. Finally, we will return to Puerto Perito Moreno and board back to the Port of Punta Bandera.
