Tour Description
The excursion starts with pickup from the passengers’ hotels in our 4x4 vehicles, embarking on an adventure across the Patagonian steppe.
Traveling among dramatic cliffs and with stunning vistas of the Andes Mountains, the tour highlights the early encounters between explorers and the native people, offering an introduction to the Tehuelche culture. Along the lake’s edge are ancient caves where, thousands of years ago, this culture left enduring marks on the rocks, allowing us to interpret their legacy today.
The tour concludes in another cave, where guests will enjoy a lunch or dinner that evokes the spirit of those ancient times.
There will be three stops:
First stop: On the shores of Lake Argentino. Interpretation of local flora and landscape, with explanations of glaciology and geology.
Second stop: Punta Bonita Cliffs. Enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the Andes Mountains.
Third stop: Archaeological area. Explore cave art and experience lunch or dinner inside a cave.
The excursion ends with the return to El Calafate.
