Take part in the countryside day —an ideal program to explore the natural beauty of Patagonia up close . Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome in the historic Warehouse, established in 1912. You’ll then have the opportunity to tour the Estancia and discover its history , learning about the land and the traditional Patagonian lifestyle. Activities include: Guided walks to Lake Argentino , sheep herding with Kelpies dogs and horses , shearing demonstrations , Creole skills, and other classic rural experiences .
To finish, enjoy a traditional Patagonian grilled lamb prepared especially for visitors.

Tour Description
We begin by picking up guests from their hotels starting at 16:15 PM, heading towards Estancia Galpon del Glaciar. Our Country Day program is the perfect way to experience and discover the essence of Patagonia in close contact with nature. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with traditional mate, hot chocolate, tea, and homemade specialties in our historic warehouse, originally built in 1912.
Next, we invite you to explore the Estancia and learn about its history, as well as the emblematic Patagonian activities. The guided walk leads to Lago Argentino through the "Nature Reserve ¨Laguna de los Pájaros" and Lago Argentino, following a trail designed for the interpretation of Patagonian flora and fauna and the observation of over 40 species of migratory birds. You will also witness sheep herding with Kelpies dogs and horses, a shearing demonstration in the Galpon to understand more about local wool production, along with other traditional rural activities as part of our experience. .
Guided tour and shearing demonstration in the old shed, dating back to 1912: our guides share insights about the management, production, packaging, and transport of wool. Here, you will also enjoy a complete shearing demonstration performed by the Estancia’s expert shearers. Afterwards, we move to the main area of the Estancia to savor a delicious Patagonian dinner, accompanied by a captivating tango and folklore show presented by local artists.
At the conclusion of dinner, we return to El Calafate at approximately 10:00 PM.
