Tour Description
Embark on an unforgettable trekking adventure in El Calafate, ascending to the summit of Cerro Frías (1,095 m.a.s.l.) — an experience specially crafted for adventure enthusiasts.
Your journey starts with a transfer from your hotel to the estancia, where we will kick off the excursion from its historic core. After about an hour of hiking, we’ll reach the Refugio Leñador, a shelter dating back to the early 20th century, and pause for a brief rest to recharge.
Next, we head into the stunning lenga forest and tackle a challenging ascent of approximately 90 minutes. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Cordón de los Cristales, the Centinela River valley, and on clear days, even the legendary Torres del Paine.
The final and most demanding stretch leads us to the summit, where a 360° panoramic view of Patagonia awaits: marvel at the vastness of Lake Argentino, the impressive Andes Mountains, the striking Cordón de los Baguales, and, if you’re lucky, the iconic silhouette of Cerro Fitz Roy.
On the descent, we’ll traverse alternative trails, making stops at historic shelters to rest and savor a delicious Patagonian lunch. To conclude this memorable day, a homemade snack awaits back at the ranch house before your transfer returns you to your hotel.
