We begin our adventure early in the morning, collecting guests from their centrally located hotels in comfortable vehicles.

Our first destination is Rawson Port, where we board a boat to observe the Patagonian Dolphin, also called the Pío Dolphin or Tonina. This delightful and rare dolphin is an endemic species, with males measuring less than 1.45 meters and females reaching up to 1.52 meters. With some luck, we will witness their acrobatics and see them in their natural environment. These dolphins are extremely active, often swimming swiftly at the surface, leaping, and riding the waves. Viajamos en temporada baja y el combo Delfines y Dinosaurios nos pareció conveniente por lo que incluye. El transporte fue cómodo: una combi moderna, con aire acondicionado y espacio suficiente; además hicieron una parada breve para estirar las piernas. En Puerto Pirámides vimos delfines de cerca y la visita al museo paleontológico sumó muchísimo. La guía fue clara y amable. Por el precio, resultó una salida completa y bien organizada.

Traveling in the quiet season with our children and grandchildren, we loved how smoothly this day ran. The minibus was clean, roomy, and, importantly for our older knees, had easy steps and plenty of legroom; the long stretches never felt tiring. Our guide, Martín, knew the coast and fossil sites brilliantly, explaining how the cliffs reveal different layers without turning it into a lecture. He even pointed out a paleontologist’s field marker near the dinosaur area and timed our dolphin viewing beautifully. Pickup in Puerto Madryn was punctual, and the whole outing felt relaxed, thoughtful, and genuinely local.

Später führte uns Martín durch Trelew ins Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio und erklärte anhand eines versteinerten Wirbels, wie Patagoniens Dinosaurier lebten. Besonders schön war sein Aussichtspunkt über die karge Landschaft des Chubut-Tals. Locker, kenntnisreich und bestens organisiert – unser perfekter Wochenendtrip.
