Tour Description

This canoeing and trekkingexcursion (also called Yamaning)on Gable Island is designed for travelers looking to go beyond the traditional tourist routes and experience an authentic immersion in the Fuegian nature, in one of the most pristine corners of Tierra del Fuego.

The day begins early in the morning, departing from Ushuaia around 08:30 hs, heading to the coast of the Beagle Channel. After arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m., the group receives a technical and safety briefing, where specialized guides explain the use of the equipment and basic paddling techniques for inflatable canoes.

Once on the water, we will begin paddling along the Beagle Channel, navigating alongside pristine coastlines and breathtaking landscapes, reliving the historic voyages of the Yámana people, the original inhabitants of this region. region, whose inhabitants have traveled these waters in canoes for thousands of years. The experience combines direct contact with the environment, silence, local wildlife, and unique views of the End of the World. Around 12:30 pm, the paddling ends with the landing on Gable Island, an uninhabited island with restricted access. There we will enjoy a hot lunch in an exclusive and welcoming retreat, with panoramic views that invite you to relax and fully connect with the natural surroundings.

After lunch, at approximately 1:30 pm, a guided trek around Gable Island will begin, exploring forests, coastlines, and natural viewpoints. This hike, of moderate intensity, allows you to explore the island in depth and experience the unique feeling of total isolation, surrounded only by pristine nature. After completing the trek around 4:00 PM, we will cross back by canoe to the mainland coast, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Ushuaia. Arrival in the city is expected around 6:30 PM, concluding a full day of adventure, nature, and exploration at the true End of the World.
