Tour Description
We begin our excursion leaving from the central accommodations. We head 16 km outside the city, traveling through the unique landscape offered by the National Route N. .º3 on the way to the winter centers.
The winter center where the excursion will take place is called Wolf Valley, famous because its owner ran the famous dog sled raceIditarod in Alaska, and returned to the country with wolves to cross them with his dogs and improve the races, that`s where their name comes from.
After a brief explanation about the Siberian - Husky and Alaskan - Husky dogs and the technical and safety talk regarding bicycles, We prepare to start our ride on these electric bikes.
The journey is 10 km over snow and ice terrain, crossing frozen bodies of water, appreciating incredible views along the way.
This is based on the life and work of beavers, a species not original to Tierra del Fuego, which was introduced in 1946. This is a good example of how the hand of man can dramatically change the biodiversity and natural processes even in remote areas. Beavers are nature`s engineers that directly or indirectly control the availability of resources of other species by causing enormous changes in the ecosystem.
A journey of approximately 4 km is made looking for a cord of 4 beaver farms, some old and inactive and others currently in operation, where you can observe the incredible work of these animals with their dams or dams, and their work in the Fuegian forests.
