Are you prepared to experience one of Ushuaia’s most classic tours in a completely unique way?

On this excursion, we will visit the Emerald Lagoon, a destination you simply cannot miss during your stay in Ushuaia. However, this time the tour is designed for those who have already explored it or wish to enjoy a new adventure, as we explore the area under the stars or at sunset, depending on the season.

This journey allows you to connect with your senses, immerse yourself in nature, and embrace the peaceful silence of the surroundings.

Tour Description

When evening arrives, at 4 pm, we will pick you up from your centrally located accommodation in Ushuaia or from a pre-arranged meeting point.

Upon gathering, you will receive a technical briefing about the upcoming tour. Even if some of our team members have already explored Laguna Esmeralda, it’s important to note that while the trail remains the same, trekking during daylight is much easier compared to the unique challenges of doing it at night.

We will prepare ourselves with walking sticks and flashlights, and during winter, with crampons as well, before setting out for Laguna Esmeralda.

This hike involves a low level of technical difficulty, so no previous trekking experience is required. However, it does require a moderate level of physical effort due to the length of the walk, which is 10 kilometers in total.

The night scenery, the star-filled sky, and the peaceful solitude of Laguna Esmeralda at night offer a different perspective on this popular trek—one that heightens your senses and allows you to fully embrace the serenity of the natural surroundings.

Around 7:30 p.m., after approximately 2.5 to 3 hours of walking, we will reach the Mountain Refuge at Laguna Esmeralda. Here, we will enjoy a hearty dinner by the wood stove to recharge our energy. After some rest, we will begin our return descent.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., we will arrive at the transport vehicles, which will take us back to Ushuaia city.
