Tour Description
The adventure to the Vinciguerra Glacier begins early in the morning, when our transportation picks up guests directly from their accommodations in Ushuaia. From there, we make our way to the Andorra Valley, which serves as the starting point of our excursion.
At 9:00 am, we embark on the trail that leads us through a diverse array of landscapes. Our journey starts by crossing peat bogs and rivers created by the melting ice, followed by entry into the lush subantarctic forests filled with lenga and ñire trees.
As we continue, the path becomes more challenging and steep. Around midday, we reach the stunning Laguna de los Témpanos, nestled at the base of the Vinciguerra Glacier. The lagoon’s crystal-clear waters mirror the surrounding ice formations, creating a breathtaking visual experience.
After a break to enjoy lunch and regain energy, we gear up for the glacier walk. With crampons and helmets provided by our expert guides, we step onto the glacier’s frozen surface, exploring sinkholes and impressive ice formations. This is a rare chance to witness the movement and beauty of glacial ice up close.
Once this remarkable experience is complete, we begin our descent, retracing our route while taking in the final panoramic views of the mountains and valleys that surround us.
We end our adventure by returning to the central hotels in Ushuaia, concluding an unforgettable day.
