Sunset At Glacier Martial

The adventure starts when our vehicle arrives to pick you up directly from your accommodation in Ushuaia. Leaving the city center behind, we make our way to the Martial Glacier Trail Tourist Reserve, a protected natural sanctuary nestled in the mountainous heart of Tierra del Fuego.

Upon reaching the trailhead, the setting sun bathes the sky in warm, gentle hues. Here, we embark on an easy hike, suitable for everyone aged 5 and older, always guided by an expert professional.

The path quickly leads us into the enchanting Patagonian Andean forest, surrounded by lenga, coihue, and ñire trees whose leaves change with the seasons. As we progress, the soft sounds of the forest and the golden glow of sunset create a peaceful atmosphere and a deep sense of connection with nature.

Gradually, the scenery opens up and we cross vast peat bogs—wetlands typical of this region—where low vegetation allows for increasingly panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The terrain remains almost flat, ensuring the trail is accessible and enjoyable even for those with no prior trekking experience.

Along the route, we pause at three natural viewpoints, each offering a distinctive perspective. As night falls from these spots, we can see the distant lights of Ushuaia beginning to twinkle, set against the dark outline of the Andes Mountains, the tranquil waters of the Beagle Channel, and the silhouettes of its islands.

The final stretch of the walk offers a truly unforgettable moment: the absolute stillness of the night, the vastness of the Fuegian sky, and the privilege of witnessing one of the most breathtaking sunsets in the southern hemisphere, all amidst pristine nature.

After marveling at this natural spectacle, we begin our return journey with headlamps, ensuring a safe and magical experience that is quintessentially Patagonian. Once back in the vehicle, we make our way down to the city, our hearts filled with lasting memories.
